A Geo-fencing is a virtual perimeter on a geographic area using a location-based service, so that when the geo-fencing device enters or exits the area a notification is generated. The notification can contain information about the location of the device and might be sent to a mobile telephone or an email account.

Geo-fencing is used with child location services to notify parents when a child leaves a designated area. Geo-fencing is a critical element to Telematics hardware and software. It allows users of the system to draw zones around places of work, customers sites and secure areas.

These zones created by an Aercept GPS Tracker when crossed by an equipped vehicle or person can trigger a warning to the user or operator via SMS or Email.

How does it work ?

You simply purchase an Aercept GPS Tracker from us and have it installed by us or you can install it yourself. Soon after the device is connected it alerts the satellite that it is connected and operational and then you can track the vehicle it is installed in. Once everything is up and running you are able to pull up a web page, enter in your login information and then you can click on the vehicle id and begin to locate the vehicle. If you are using it for inventory control or teen tracking then you will be able to set it up where you get alerts on your cell phone or in your email box alerting you that the location of your vehicle has changed (geo fencing).
